Oil Sensor

The oil sensor needle stays at the top of the gauge when the engine is OFF when I switch on its drops to the bottom and then goes up to the top again is the sender at fault? Mercedes 220e 1993

Just pull the wire off,, then try it,,then short the wire to ground,, that should tell you
