Any tips on how to get the filter out . Removal of resonator pipe and Futher down there's alot of what looks like wiring and pipes covered in a black plastic cover.

Picture for reference only . It's not my bay

Resonator pipe is actually easy to remove.
Pull the large rubber hose off after releasing the Henn clips (easiest with the tool but not difficult with a screwdriver or two).
A couple of bolts and it slides out.
From memory there's the bolt by your arrow and two more at the front of the engine.

It's actually harder getting it back in!

change the seals in the resonator pipe.
Change the orange seals too - should be a service item.

Yes as above, front plastic cover has two torx bolts in it. Replace the intake seals if leaking or deformed and replace the green O ring on the intake tube, and thank MB For that stupid resonator tube to remove 1.3% of intake noise

Anyone know if I can still remove the turbo pipe with all that trunking in the way . Is it possible to loosen off 1 end and turn the pipe ,so that knuckle end faces up overs . ?
I've found 1 bolt near to a pulley on the front . From what I've read the other is underneath the lower engine covers.

You need to loose the trunking and you cannot rotate the pipe due to the way its shaped at the front. There isn't really a quick and easy way to do them.

Don't forget to change the seals at both ends as well

So in the end the small bolt on top of the resonator box needs screwing out about 1cm , the bolt underneath just needs slackening off to allow the resonator box to move forward, unclip the engine wiring harness and lift it up , unplug any sensors that pull tight ,remove the batwing and 1 air filter , then you need to wiggle and pull on the turbo pipe as you keep the wiring harness held up . I replaced the black o ring first and slotted the turbo pipe back over that end , then the green o ring , the turbo pipe gets pretty much stuck by this stage , you just have to try and move things to allow it to fall over the turbo end . My wrists are a bit sore trying to get at the lower bolt after removing the covers . In the end that lower bolt didn't really need removing at all , maybe just slightly loosened. Changing the fuel filter was pretty straightforward .

...... My wrists are a bit sore trying to get at the lower bolt .....
Years ago I'd been mauling about under the bonnet of a car & noticeably scratched the inside of my forearms while reaching down into a tight space. A few days later I went to give blood. A young girl came to clean & prepare my arm for stabbing me .... she looked at my arm & without saying anything walked away & came back with an older nurse. She then took my arm and looked at the scratches, also without a word. Guessing they felt they that were struggling to say anything to me I said 'I don't self ham ... the scratches are a result of working on my car!'
I was allowed to give my arm full of blood! :p

Working on your car is self-harm and yet strangely satisfying, despite the almost inevitable knicks and scratches.

The strange flooding of the brain with the chemicals of pleasure and satisfaction dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins,

And not forgetting the much rarer Mercedium.

I find myself drawn to an older car and it's inevitable pain for no sensible reason.

The Mrs brought me some bacon sarnies , so I suppose that counts as " self hamming " .

I'll ad this for others . It's basically the same ,but without the pop up wiring harness.
