Hi.

Im going to do an oil change on my 2011 E350CDI and can not find the info I need regarding how much oil I have to put in.

Can somone in the know put me out of my misery? Im currently seeing that its 8 litres but I want to make doubly sure.

Thanks

Buy 8ltrs, measure what you take out and then replace with the same quantity - check the level and then add a bit more if you need to.

Don’t just blindly add 8ltrs as that’s what the manual states is the capacity…

That is the amount from new, you’ll never get all the oil out unless you completely strip the engine down. Adding too much oil is particularly bad for an engine

Thanks for the replies, genuinely!

I have been doing oil changes on my cars since I was 17, 34 years and I have never considered that (thx Blobcat).

The last time I did it, I stopped at 7 and a bit litres as I found the OM642 dipstick difficult to read. It reminds me of a truck or van dipstick, for some reason no matter how careful I am, it always comes out splattered in oil!

Your not alone with unreadable dipsticks. I think the only chance you have is pulling it out after letting it settle overnight and try to get a reading that way .
