My 2011 E Class 250 with OM651 engine has an oil leak at back of engine.
Any known places with these engines that are known to leak?
Thinking timing chain cover, any thoughts.

Smart + others :)
They leak from lots of places, seen cracked heads, rear timing case cracked from worn chain, cracked sumps, loose chain tensioner but most oil leaks are from front, oil cooler area.

Does the oil filter housing incorporate the oil cooler? I guess it gets a coolant feed then?
Have you got a diagram, picture?
Like to understand these things

can i ask where/why was it leaking ? O ring/gasket i would get,if made properly and fitted correctly should not be leaking anywhere else , i suppose its possible over tightening filter or stress trying to loosen could crack something ??

The “O” rings flatten and go hard. Not available separately.

yr jokin ! cant get the o rings ,without buying the whole assly , i would consider that downright robbery !! and i find (no offence intended ) that really hard to understand .. .so when doing eng overhaul the seals are not in a full overhaul or top end gasket set ?

No offence taken, I don’t make/sell the parts. If less work was involved, I would source a replacement o ring.
