Hi had a rough idle on om651 newer engine for over 2 months on and off now a lad came and did diagnostics and reset my injectors the car was fine for a few weeks but the rough idle came back as he said it would making the car shake so I replaced 3 injectors which he said the numbers were off i coded them in, I replaced fuel filter that didn't do anything now it's back but the car smells like it's burning rich and it's misfiring at certain times especially after acceleration, going to change the 4th injector and see what happens also going to change camshaft sensor the oxygen sensor. What else could it be? If anyone has had problems with rough idle please help also noticed a tiny bit of fuel where injectors sit very little so maybe injector seals need replacing? I put new copper washers a couple months ago always thought something was loose that's why maybe I smell it burning rich. The injectors I bought were only tested not refurbed but I got the test sheet so they should be fine maybe it's time to change them all for new ones which is very expensive thanks

Oh dear.
I would be interested to read if others had success either getting their injectors refurb'ed, or fitting 2nd hand, to a 651.

My attempt at refub' (all 4, with test sheets) was a dismal failure. Starting was a bitch, wouldn't run unless revs held high. Fitted new, issues resolved.
It is likely that just 1 was poor, but if rail pressure isn't good and constant no good.

Maybe that's my problem the pressure but like I said he reset the injectors and they were fine for weeks so he said that is the problem maybe I need new ones but no way I'm paying over 400 for some injectors madness the prices of Delphi injectors even refurbed ones, think the injectors are just rubbish tbh

£400 is cheap (for 4 anyway).
Your leaking injector seal isn't going to affect the running, but it does show a lack of care when installing the injectors.

Not wanting to sound insulting but doing this piece meal to save some quids has likely cost you time and dosh.
I had all 4 refurb'ed, it would have saved some but not a lot. As it turned out it cost me more than the cost of the failed refurb's.
There are so many tails of these injectors not being able to purge afterwards, not liking being lay down unless wax filled.
That's before the coding being not applicable afterwards.
Then there is the tickover adaptations, and later the running adaptations.

As said, I would be interested to hear from others about the need and legitimacy of some of that.

injectors were fitted correctly. Yes I mean 400 for refurbed ones but new ones are like 200 each rather try buy some low mileage ones from a breakers yard maybe will save me in long run as I've already spent over 300 for tested ones just the genuine price even for used ones is pricey so maybe just buying all new ones is a good investment for the car

New are obviously new

Reconditioned are completely gone over and are as new , but they cost often about 10% more than actual new surprisingly. Not many places can rebuild the quartz stack injectors

Refurbished means they are return cores when someone buys new injectors they send old in on an exchange basis, they are tested and if they are within factory specs then they get a new nozzle hopefully and then put up for sale… also a new code should be issued for them to enter into ecu to calibrate them

New is probably best way to go
