Hi bogart, from the information given on e-bay the car looks ok. But for a 2000W the mileage is a bit over "average" (although not a problem for this car) and with the rust already on it is at best only ok (by the way did you look under the door rubbers on the tops and bottoms of all the doors, around the rear tailgate release and at the engine x-member which is hidden by the plastic engine tray?).
This would be a fine car for the right money, but from the advert it looks the seller has got an over-inflated view of its value. Don't be tempted to jump for this one thinking it is a bargain, there are plenty out there. I wouldn't pay more than about 2200-2500 for something like this. Remember that after another year or two it probably will only be worth about1500-2000.
If you are tempted to pay nearer the asking price you should definitely get it checked out by an Indie and bargain hard for any significant items to be fixed or the price reduced.

Good luck, but don't carried away by this one car, they are very rarely the amazing bargain that the seller wants you to believe.

Dave

The 2.0ltr is under powered, it copes but you know it, the 2.4 is a good lump! just not as much pull as a 320, got your pm, hard to reply as i haven't seen the car!

The thing that put me off was when you said about rust on the roof!!!

Yes I dont mind rust where one expects it:D Was surprised to see any on the roof.
Admittedly its is only 2 or 3 small blisters each maybe only 2 or 3mm across but they are there.

Checked where you said except for the engine cross member. Some rust on the rear arches. was told the front wings were replacements. Certainly feeling the arches they felt smooth. Was never considering the price of 3.2K
or anywhere near it. As the car is for my wife her input on the "looks" carries a lot of weight, and it certainly looked nice interior wise.
Will probably sleep on it and decide in the morning. As you say always other fish in the sea.
