Anyone know how id find out what original tires i need to get for a 230E 1988 Benzo? I was told Michellin tires shipped with then vehicle. I suppose i need to sizing as well, perhaps if i just give the sizing to a tire guy an tell him to put Michellin's similar to the originals this would be satisfactory yeah?

what type of tyre is really down to personal preference and how much you want to spend! usually with tyres you get what you pay for, the cheaper end of the market usually means that they'll have a shorter life span. but is not always the case! i recently had firestone fuel savers on my 200 te but found that while offering good grip and wear factors the road noise was really quite bad above 60mph! as for pressures mine is on the inside of my petrol cap i assumed all mercedes were the same!

i ask this question because i have absolutely no idea the difference between tires. Id prefer just to put on what the manufacturer recommends.

So any idea where i may find info on the original tires which this model shipped with?

Original 6.5J x 15" steel or alloy wheels on 88 230 had 195/65 R 15 91 H tyres.

I used Pirelli P6000s on mine.

If you have the service book,,on the back page there is a vehicle data card stuck to it with all these details,no 11 gives you the type of tyres originally fitted....hope this helps..............
