Three men escaped without serious injury from the twisted wreckage of this car, after it veered off the road and into a lamppost.

It happened in front of my house in 1990 at 3am in the morning by a publican who was several times over the limit, and I slept thru until been alerted by a knock on the door by the policeman at 6am in the morning.

This incident was just outside my estate! My house is about 200 yds up the road you can see behind the car. The road network was at a standstill for over half the day and at one point, we couldnt get off the estate at all.

You probably just need closure on this one ..getting woken at 6 am is no joke

Talking of early morning awakenings by police officers, One morning at 5am the cops rang me to establish if i had a particular car in my possession, I had the said vehicle in my garage for repairs, so they needed to check the car.. so at 5 20 they arrived and inspected the car which was repaired and awaiting to be picked up next morning, they were very interested in the new front number plate which was fitted, and details of the damge to the vehicle,, when i enquired about the reasons for questions one of the coppers told me that there had been an accident and that the front number plate of the car had been found at the scene..so when had the accident happened I asked, at 3,30 am this morning thay said, anyone hurt I enquired Three fatalities I was told.. whoa complete shock.. and you think this car was involved I asked .. the policewoman ..who seemed to have been given a small measure of common sense said I dont think this car was involved, the male cop asked how long has this car been here. so I said look if this car was involved in an accident at 3 30 this morning its now 5 30 am and it hasnt any damage so how does that tally.. they then agreed that it wasnt the same car.. so I asked were the ppl killed locals.. to which the woman pc answered no it was three sheep that were killed..
So further investigation by myself revealed that the lady who owned the car had loaned it to her son a few days earlier. he was rolling a joint and smacked the car in front ..no damage done but the front plate was broken, so he pulled it off and threw it in the ditch.. then on the morning in question some sheep out on the road a newspaper delivery guy late for his pick up wipes out the sheep and as there was no one around drives on and reports the matter later at 9am...
