Outside temperature display

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me if my 1994 C200 Elegance should have a digital outside temperature display on the dash?

There is a black rectangle there. I was just wondering if the LCD has gone or is it not a standard piece of kit on this model. There is a digital odometer (centre) and clock (right).

Don't have a manual - still waiting on a new one from MB!!

I think at that time the OTG was an optional extra, along with a lot of other kit which is now standard. Digressing slightly but my first merc was a 1988 190 with manual windows, no radio etc etc i.e. very low spec.
The window is there on the dash but unless it was specified as an extra it won't be there.

BrianM is correct in his answer. you can retro fit, is it worth it, running cables on these cars is not easy.
