I have just bought a 96 C180 Classic. Can anyone advise me if the Outside temperature indication only works on certain models please.

This was possibly an option, though the display can go down also, I am not sure if this will come up on the original order try it with your complete VIN

http://www.mbclub.ru/mb/vin/?lng=eng

the code if fitted is 240

thanks for that, it does not mention it. The hand book is not model specific and so just mentions everything.

I am not ignoring your valid help, I am just having a problem with viewing the thread as it asks for my password but wont accept it. I have gone to the reset page a few times with no effect. Thanks anyway.

No this model does not have the sensor fitted and from the web site suggested above it was not fitted as an option. Thanks for you help and as ever "somebody somewhere will know the answer". Cheers

A good point. The parts breakdown is a sensor assembly and a harness. This I suppose poses a question. Will the factory fitted harness include the air temp cabling and does it just need the sensor assembly. I know this reasoning works for some elements of ford assembly. A quick look this morning showed no connector lurking behind the front valance where the sensor mounts. Anyone have a clue?

Not if someone out there already knows the answer. A waste of money if it does not work!
