Hi all, :D

Graet forum - I'm new here, new to M-B but looking forward to joining in on converstions...

And right away, here's my first problem! Would be great if you could help out: I'm picking up a 300E soon, from Wales. I need to take it into my local M-B specialist to fix a fault - when it's hot, it stalls as it goes to idle (i.e. junctions) and won't restart until its cold. Everyone reckons it's the OVP (??).

Trouble is, I dont' have a trailer. Will it run OK on a 'clear' road - such as a motorway, if I don't stop? I know it's not ideal, but need to get this thing over there... if, of course, it is the OVP. All I know is that it stalls as you slow down. Then won't restart easily.

Any help appreciated!!

Thanks,
Richard.

you might have to drive it with 2 feet try and keep the revs up when at junctions and keep the other foot on the brake.
if it does fail you could always use the aa or rac if your in one of them.

Thanks! Will tentatively give it a go. Had a MkII Golf GTI that used to stall approaching junctions too, so well used to juggling pedals and handbrake. At least with this I've only two pedals to play with!

Will let you know the diagnosis when I finally get there...

Thanks again guys,
Richard.
