Thankyou for your reply very unhelpful.

im not sure how we should take that. we dont have the car in front of us with a STAR machine connected so difficult to say for sure. you gave a code which as has been pointed out above, usually points to a failed lambda sensor/lambda sensor (o2 sensor as theyre more often called) reading out of spec, lean in this case, which can increase exhaust gas temps. quite how you feel that is unhelpfulis, to be frank, a mystery to me.

im also puzzled as to why you would ask about this at 7.28pm, then state at 8.59pm that the car is with mercedes as every MB dealership i know of closes at 6pm at the VERY latest.

If you are in the W Midlands, I'd be taking the car to MSL in Birmingham, not the main dealer for diagnostics and repair.

No longer own a Mercedes Benz
You only get 15 minutes to edit your posts if I recall correctly but yes it doesn't read like it was a typo. I hope I'm wrong though...

Hi, I’m new to this so apologies For hijacking this thread but I’m looking for some info relating to a similar engine code. A couple of days ago my OH txt me a photo with my EML on. I have a handheld laser OBD reader and I’m getting the codes P2080 - Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit range/Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1
And P0546 - Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit High Bank 1 Sensor 1

Anybody got any suggestions?

Get a readout of the live temperature reading from the sensor.

I’ve tried but I don’t think my reader gives those specific figures unless I’m using it wrong. I have a laser 5091 EOBDOII/EOBD if anyone has some knowledge on one of these?

Hi Rukako,
Which code are you getting?
Likely hood is you eed to replace a sensor. Also this is an old threat I'd suggest starting a new one oooh and welcome to the forum.

Hello
i have the same problem
P208027 Temperature sensor 1 'Exhaust system' (Cylinder bank 1)

I try sensor reading with xentry
The reading of sensor B16/15 is 0c
I am not sure if the sensor B16/15 is the oxygen sensor

Any one find a solution for this error code?

Thanks

There are two temperature sensor in the exhaust. This is the second one in the center of the exhaust before the center box.
