I live in the Thurrock area of Essex.
I think a MB specialist is the way to go also, is there a database of Star owners?
Mark.

I live in the Thurrock area of Essex.
Going back to this afternoon after my run to cambridge i rememebered a indy not far away so i had a run out to see if he was still open, he wasnt so i retuned home all in all out for 10 mins. The light remained on throughout, Then the wife called can i pick her up from the station which again is a 10 min run (not helping with these runs but needs must at the mo), i started the car no light, station and back still no light, it seemed more responsive in the lower revs and drove really well. I will take it when i can find a good star man but still searching, the chap i went to see earlier looked after a M series i had but i feel sure his main channel was MB, he used to charge a lot but his work was very good.

I am wondering if the run did it some good.

Sorry for any repeated messages but i cant seem to post correctly or there is a glitch.

Mark.

There are too many DPF repair shops offering to delete aswell, thats got me annoyed a little, i guess its an easy fix for some but not a responsable action and should be stopped.
Frustrating that the wrong way is sometimnes the most economical way! rant over lol.

Ok last one for today, sorry im obsessive.

Alex has come back via email said he will try a regen no problem but it may be too far gone.
He aslo mentioned i might have the old pressure sensor which fails. Thanks steve lets hope.
I am just glad i have someone who can look at it under star, not easy for you guys remotely to diagniose and i have little knowledge and we know what that does.
Thamks again guys,
Mark.

I don't want to spend a fortune on it. I'm only interested if it has a typical quickly solveable problem like some pipe got really old or something. I read a lot of threads about such problem but I don't know where it may be.

Like I said, it needs diagnostic codes read otherwise you can change dozens of parts and not fix it.

You could try the free checks listed in this thread already first.

my Mercedes: C220/2009/OM651 (125kw disel)
P2279 is the diagnostic code which I read from the car.
They talked about this code in the thread too but they stopped talking about it, that's why I am need in help to find a solution to the P2279 problem.

just out of interest, if one is star equipped is it worth trying to do a forced regen on say my annual maintenance as a measure to compensate for short trips and keep dpf clean as opposed to waiting for the car to make up,or not its own mind.?? i understand no software upgrade with off line system.

I do a regen at least once over winter on my Vito. My van only gets short runs over winter and rarely sees a big road. It also gets only part time use in winter. My DPF is showing 99% full of ash so I want to get any extra life out of it before I have to sort it. Dont have star, I use different software. I haven't heard of any issues doing an odd forced regen but I could be wrong
