Some of you may be aware of this already but I thought that I would just let others know that after weeks of research and a particularly understanding customer, we have now successfully upgraded a W203 C class to have full paddle shift control.

The process is not an easy one by any means but it is possible. The dedication of my colleague Richard (RPALMEIDA) has paid off. We will not divulge how it is done but it does use genuine parts and is available should anyone be interested. Its not that expensive either;) We should be able to do W209 CLK and W211 E class also.

Some pictures would be nice. Have you also changed the C/S button to C/S/M?

I've driven a few Mercedes with the paddle shift and I don't really get it, I find that when I want to change down the car doesn't so it waits until it is happy with the revs before it down shifts. I would prefer when I press the button the car does what I asked it to do.

Yep we changed the switch also. It is just a switch with different lettering to the C/S one thats all. The electronics in the switch are the same as the C/S one.

I'll try and get some pictures from the customer. We have since got two more booked in!

Good good, another possible Comand customer here
and I'm still interested in a reversing camera setup for the Comand in my W211 if you know anyone who's undertaking that work.

I'm sure this can be done proivided there is a video input on the comand unit in question. There is on yours Whitenemesis ;-)

However, its the cost of the camera thats killing this particular mod. Plus we need to sort out some way of mounting the camera properly in a car that its not designed for. We will crack it one day i'm sure......

Interested

Can you mod the CLK W208 320 as well?
What sort of cost are we looking at (ish)?
Being able to access the engine with a better box/selection would be great.
Can u still use the old settings - is it switchable?

Very interested.

I dont think we can do the slightly older cars. So far we've only done the MY2005 cars. That said, if there was a W208 in the lineup that had paddle shift (AMG possibly?) then we can probably do it.

Cost depends on whether you supply the parts or we do. If you supply them then its usually £199 for the labour and the coding required. We might be able to knock a little off this for established forum members.
