Had my C207 350 cdi nearly 18 months now but never really bothered with the paddles, but this morning i decided to have a proper play
must admit like them a lot, it's
like I've discovered a whole different car, boy can it shift
when you are controlling the changes, rather then let the gearbox decide for you, Will definitely be using it more now.:D

i use them when i see circumstances where my brain more alert than mr benz like overtaking without a load of boot or braking changing down, because of idiot . but generally dont bother much with them . prob something else to repair/pay for.

Occasionally when, like the post above, I think my brain can handle an upcoming situation better than the software.

I prefer to use the gear stick (what's one of them??) rather than the paddles as I find the steering isn't "sharp" enough round corners particularly :)

I like the idea of having both an automatic gearbox plus the ability to change when required manually with paddles. Mmmm. Maybe I should test drive another new Mercedes-Benz with this on.
Does the GLE come with this option?

My Smart Roadster has a choice of auto, gear stick or paddle shift.
Auto is dire, stick us ok but paddles transform the car.

They’re most useful for tapping out your favourite tune on the radio...:D

I had them in two previous cars and never used them, I always found it more convenient with more functionality in the auto Tiptronic/DSG gearstick.

You won't have missed them, I never use them, a bit superfluous really unless you want to drive like an idiot. Having said that there are the odd occasion where they might be useful

They're definitely good when 'pressing on' or 'making progress'...
