Finally got round to changing my injectors today because they are knacked and one has been suffering from blow by for a few weeks and they all came out but one . I was worried about the bolts snapping but they came out easy and so did five of the injectors . The second injector from the front of the engine is stuck fast . I ve tried heating it up and using a slide hammer but it wont budge!! Any body got any suggestions or am i well and truely stuffed lol . Can i cap the outlet on the fuel rail so i can run it on 5 cylinders? lol.

WD40 and plenty of it leave over night and try in the morning, try twisting left to right also.

Torque the injector first then turn another 90 degrees and then 90 again. Stress is less 90 and 90 than a straight 180.

Not in the manual

brake fluid overnight. next day use two large screwdrivers to carefully lever around the head (the injector has a lip which allows for such) but beware of stressing and weak areas and also the amount of force you use.
Remove all tools from area.
Next, grab some massive rag or towel, and cover the whole of the cylinder head/injector area. Drop the bonnet.

Pull the fuse on the fuel pump and reconnect the battery.
now blast that injector out on the starter. No more than 10-15 seconds.

See how much it has moved, reapply your choice of lubricant and try to maneuvre it out turning it out while twisting from side to side.

It shouldn't take too long this way.

Worked for me after the mechanic had given up - and he had a slidehammer!

If the injector has been blowing for some time it will be difficult to remove the injector without further damage.

If you cannot get it out using a slidehammer and the merc adapter then it will need to be pulled out hydraulically using the special tools listed below.

I have also attached pictures which I hope you find useful;)

W 611 589 02 33 00 - Adapter Plate
W 001 589 51 33 00 - Hollow Cylinder (Hyd piston)

You will also need a hydraulic pump to operate the piston.

Its all done

After soaking the injector and bashing it for 4 days it decided to come out with a larger slide hammer . Cleaned up all 6 seats and popped in 6 recon injectors . Now runs very nicely. Diesel expert companies where i live were rubbish and all said i was gonner have to remove the head which i didnt fancy on this engine :eek: So once again thanks for all your advice guys :D

After soaking the injector and...
Just for future reference, what did you soak it in? and/or what did you find was the most effective soaking agent?

There are so many different theories around... WD40... coke... brake fluid... brake cleaner... oven cleaner...

That tool will not work on this model in question, the rocker cover is a different shape and it will puncture it! I know as I have the same tool!! That tool is meant for the Vito engines.
