Hi All

I have a black CLS still under the Mercedes warranty. Whilst travelling on the motorway a large rough stone came out of nowhere from the opposite carrageway and smacked the bonnet. The middle of the bonnet now has a cm long white groove in it, with a couple of minor scratches around it.
I'm wondering if anyone has had this kind of repair completed at MB and how much it cost. Also would like to know if I had a repair done with a 3rd party if it would invalidate the corrosion warranty, and can anyone suggest a 3rd party and give an idea of cost?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Black should be ok to touch up.

Would invalidate the warranty only if it were proven the corrosion came from outside in.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I'll check the details out. Any ideas on cost either with Merc or with the 3rd parties mentioned?

Update

Hi

Malcolm, I contacted Intelligent Repairs and they advised I get it done at MB. Going to see what ChipsAway think they can do with it. Anyone had them to do a CLS bonnet?

Dear All, 1st time back for a while, to update you, ChipsAway guy was knowledgable but said there's no way of getting a good finish on a bonnet and recommended a respray. Touched up with MB stick and laquer for now and will await enough chips to warrant a respray!
