The warranty covers corrosion from the inside - either inside panels or starting under the paint so I suspect you don't qualify but if you think you do ...
Firstly 1998 was the changeover point when the 8 (or was it 6?) year warranty became a 30 year warranty - so you may be out of luck on that score. Secondly they often insist that you own the car for a period (perhaps 6 months) before they'll entertain a claim (to stop people trading cars at their expense), thirdly, the rules actually state that the car must have Full Merc dealer service history (though they have been known to be flexible on that one) and finally, this assumes that the paintwork is undamaged and original.
Door corners are not the normal weak spots on the 210 so my suspicion is that the doors have been knocked and chipped - in which case your claim will be rejected.
It costs nothing to ask but don't hold your breath.

No way dude! Get your arse down to your local dealer and ask them to inspect it now. Does the car has a full Merc history? As JB says they won't entertain accident damage or neglect, but saying that what have you got to lose? Feck all that's what.

I would book your car in for a very basic A (Oil & Filters and pay cash) service and talk to the dealer saying look you love the car and you want to trade up in the future if only they will help you with this claim? They want to do the work, it's good money for them if MB will pay? Mine nearly bit my arm off!

If not seek out an independent spray shop or 3 and see which is best. good luck.

fully agree. Go down and ask. They will give you a straight answer. If it's no, then there's no point waiting. If they want you to wait, they'll tell you and you may get lucky and be booked straight in. Nopthing gained from waiting - go straight down.

Before you take it in, remove the engine bay bottom cover and check your front subframe.
Mine was absolutely shot (98 E300td). I bought the car some 12 months after the last recorded Merc. service it having covered 19,000 miles in the time.
Their claim was, it did not have full history, my claim was that the degree of corrosion present did not get to this state in 12 months(corrosion is my bread and butter) so either the services were not correctly carried out or if they were then the dealer kept quiet about the corrosion.

I would strongly advise you to check this, as this is a potential structural defect that could have disastrous consequences.

Also check behind all your door seals.

you must first get the car serviced by merc then they should get the cover you require i am going throught the same thing and it is a bit long winded if you check you should have the mobilo warrenty and this covers the paint for 30 years if you put it in for a service then the warranty stands as the car must be serviced in the last 24 months by merc then they should pick up the paint problems and resolve them for you if not give it a week and then ring merc uk and ask if the car is covered they will tell you to goto the dealer and then get it sorted (make shore that the paint is rusting from the inside out ) happy mercing

if you put it in for a service then the warranty stands as the car must be serviced in the last 24 months by merc

This is an interesting one and an issue I mean to look into.
If your car has a partial MB history and a partial indie history, but has been serviced by MB in the last 24 months, does that mean that despite potentially not being covered for part of its life, the warranty is automatically -re-instated the moment a dealer changes the oil?
Seems a little odd that they would agree to this (£200 spent on a service gets you eligible to £2000 worth of body work), though I seem to remember reading something that implied it.
If this is the case, then presumably the whole of Mobilio including the breakdown cover kicks back in again.

I've just spent £1100.00 less a round of drinks on paint I was told that the work would be guaranteed for life, which was a big influencing factor. But is that dependant on Dealer Servicing?

Did you get that guarantee in writing?
