I've started using the Park Assist on our car recently as I'm struggling so much to parallel park when the space seems a bit tight. I'm quite surprised at how good it seems to be, this morning it reversed me into a gap between quite a wide van and a car with surprising ease, think I would have been there half the morning if I'd been doing it unaided!
Now I'm wondering if it will also bay park. I'm kind of assuming it won't and there isn't anything in the handbook as it seems to be more generic than specific to our actual car. Is there any way I can actually find out if it does do it short of going into the Dealership and asking them?

My 2015 C 200 does both forms of parking so you should be fine. I don’t tend to use it much, but when I do I am impressed every time!
I heard somewhere that I should be able to exit the space with Park Assist as well. Can’t think of why I might need to though...

An old B-Class.
Surprising thread - people are usually moaning about how useless it is (but I think that they have not taken the time to understand how the system works).

I like it and use it. The seating position in my SL is very low and I cannot see where the front or rear of the car is, so the parking assist is very handy for me.

Let us know how you get on and then I might give it a try.

This morning we were in Waitrose car park and the one we use has one level at the very top that is always very quiet, so we decided to have a go. No matter how slow we drove, whether we indicated or not, the white arrow next to the P didn't come on.
On the way home we found a road nearby where the cars bay park so we had another go. This time the arrow came on, put the car into reverse, clicked ok when the Park Assist thing came up. Started to reverse, good job we were looking as it was reversing us right into the front of huge 4x4, so we are guessing our car doesn't do bay parking ;)

I confess it's a toy i play with.
So much fun especially when it's tight.
How do you tell it to pull out of a space? I haven't seen that.

I think bay parking would have been added to most models c 2017?

From what I understand you can only get out of a space if you've used Park Assist to get into the space in the first place. I didn't realise you could do that so I haven't tried it, but being the inquisitive kind of person I am, next time I use Park Assist I will see if it does work. Apparently you pretty much use the same technique, indicate and wait for the car to tell you that the Park Assist is active and go from there :)

Now I want a new car, in fact I'd like one with the 360 degree reversing camera, heated seats, mirrors that fold, my list is very long ;)

New car with new gadgets is always good Lyn!

Absolutely John, unfortunately we can't afford to change ours right now. Not even sure we would stick with the A Class, I still like it but Keith still mourns his C Class Estate and would have his old one back in a heartbeat if he could!
