I believe the system has now been removed in 2021 cars.

"The "Active" part of the Park Assist feature has been discontinued. Moving forward a car will no longer actively search for parking positions at low speeds. Not just Mercedes. I believe it's been discontinued on pretty much every car sold in Europe.I believe the system has now been removed in 2021 cars.

Hey guys,
I thought you had to look for a parking space and it would indicate which parking spot would be best to park in? It just keeps trying to search and I’m not great with manual instructions, I would much prefer to see it as a tutorial on YouTube or another platform.
So confusing as I keep on scratching my black alloys with my ‘terrific’ parking skills
Thanks All!
Hi Beela,
I'm a bit late to the party on this but should you still need "visual" help with Mercedes functions, then the Nick O'Leary Mercedes-Benz Youtube channel might be helpful as, although focussed on later models, I find his videos well explained.
Hope this helps save your alloys!
I took my (second hand) February 2021 C300 to Mercedes yesterday because I couldn't get the 'Active Park Assist' to operate. Mercedes confirmed that they no longer fit this system and unfortunately my car fell in the production time when it was stopped. It has 'Parktronic" but not 'Active Park Assist' and is therefore not able to steer the car into a space.I believe the system has now been removed in 2021 cars.

I have got it on mine but daren't use it. I did try to use it once and it was terrifyingI took my (second hand) February 2021 C300 to Mercedes yesterday because I couldn't get the 'Active Park Assist' to operate. You must both have faulty cars. We’ve both (wife & I ) had it in our MBs since 2009 and never experienced anything like that. When you have worked out how to use it I hope you have the nerve to use it. Mine came up with the for ‘park assist’ press ‘OK’ on the dash whilst preparing to parallel park. When I pressed ‘OK’ it violently snatched the steering wheel from my hands which I found unnerving to say the least. I just jumped on the brakes and did the job myself
My Daughter’s experience was pretty much the same in her A Class too. Good luck with that
Maybe it was because I wasn’t expecting it. I hadn’t seen that message before and thought ‘what’s that’ and pressed the OK button whilst still holding the steering wheel. I guess if you intended to use it you would do it slightly differently and be prepared for it.You must both have faulty cars. I had it fitted as an optional extra to my 2015 Golf. It worked perfectly pretty much every time I used it and would get me into parking spaces I would never have attempted. I'm a pretty useless parker (and have a long term neck injury) so the system was a really useful aid. It was one of the reasons I went for the Merc so I was rather disappointed to discover it has been discontinued just prior to my model production date.my sister has the one on a focus that they advertised with the stunt driver on the top of a building (the footage is real - but for safety - probably of those on the ground - it was tethered in case it had a wobble)
I guarantee it can park better than ANYONE on this forum - I first tried it in her few week old brand new car 7 minutes after getting in it, parking in the rain at night - it parallel parked in a space I didn't think it would cope with and it was a perfect 4" from the kerb dead parallel - and being a modern stupid car I almost couldn't see out the rear or side windows, nor had I wanted to do a wheel on the kerb or fiddle with her door mirror positions
and I'm fed up - just spent 25 mins searching the stupid internet looking for either the ad or the video of making the stunt - and they have BOTH vanished
and before we get silly check how its parked vs the yellow blocks not the roof edge
