Can someone point me in the right direction re the front parking sensors? First off there was a bleep, then as time progressed it was as if something was lodged against one or more of them, yesterday I investigated and wiped the sensors with a damp paper roll, this was ok for a while but then it became continuous, I stopped the engine and it had stopped for a quarter mile or so then back to square one! Now, instead of a flashing red light I get the two extreme lights only and they are yellow, how can I at least isolate this annoying problem until I find the problem?

jack up your car, take the front bottom under car shield off, then you will see wires going in to each sensor to the bumper, just disconnect the one, which is faulty. takes only 5 few mins.

Thank you so much, would you believe I have driven 15 miles and not a peep out of them! That's what I really call intermittent:(

Well, an update: First of all, the sensors on my car are accessed by prising out the left and right strips which house them, no need to remove an underside panel, we did that and it was clearly not the way to go, on my car anyway. We removed the sensor connectors and all seemed well for a few miles and the beep beep started again, next I took it to an electronic expert who told me that there is a module somewhere which needs to be removed, after doing a bit of searching he found it in the drivers footwell, in water! This whole debacle has been caused by a drain blockage under the bonnet just forward of the driver, I knew about the large grill on the passenger side, which is quite obvious, but this other one is quite sneaky, but clear to see when you are looking for it, so folks, there are two drainage ports under the bonnet, this smaller inconspicuous one had quite a lot of gunge in it, small wonder as I have discovered it only after 9 years and 130k miles!

Before I screw all the panels together again, does anyone know of other likely suspects which I should check, the sunroof being number 1, I suppose.

most common are the scuttle, sunroof drains, and the airbox drains (that the bonnet interfaces with)

Thank you so much sir, I will pay particular attention to these before I screw everything together again.

In my attempts to discover where the leak is coming from, I have opened the sunroof and carefully put about 200ml of water with a purple dye in it, this disappeared, not onto the floor or into the footwell, as yet, will I need to replenish with much more water? Seems strange, it has got to be going somewhere, I assumed the drain went straight down to the floor, there wouldn't be a reservoir of sorts?

Well, the dye has eventually leaked on to the floor and not in the floorpan, this is looking like a blocked drain which I have cleared and any water on the floorpan is residual.
