Does anyone know, what exactly is the difference between A1695420018 and A2125420018 other than the 212 does not come colour-coded, so needs to be painted?

I need to replace a sensor (could just be a bad connection, but knowing my luck, it's probably a faulty sensor), so bought the 212 one:

Both shown as suitable for pre-facelift, however the chassis number (Jxxxxx) for the 212 sensor is later, than my car's?

OK, so I got the answer now: the A2125420018 fits W169 from 2007-2008 onwards, prior to that - it's A1695420018.

Unfortunately for me, that means the front bumper [might] have to come off again, if I can't manage to fit the correct sensor - we swap the faulty one from inside left to outside left, so it's easy to access, hopefully without removing the bumper this time.

Incidentally, would the car need to go on STAR to get the Parktronic working again, after the replacement?
I realised the stored error code will still be there, it's just re-activation I'm concerned with.

If it does David you know where I am and what day to come over ;)

Any joy with MK?

Just plug and play IIRC, I have to replace a rear on on my car on Friday with the W212 coded one, luckily it is in the valance so no painting needed

Thanks, yes I do! :)
Hopefully the replacement sensor will arrive on/before next Tuesday.

Still waiting to hear from them ... apparently by the end of the week ...

I'll have to paint mine, hope it won't look too horrible with MB touch-up.

I probably should, but I'm terrible at spray-painting and Malcolm is not here to help again ...

Spraying that will be easy, just several thin coats

Thanks chaps!
I'll see if I can buy a can of 191U before the sensor arrives.
