Hi All,
I have recently had my front bumper removed in order to have it resprayed due to motorway stone chips!
When I collected my car from the Bodyshop I noticed that my parking sensor alarm kept beeping with the first 2 orange bars displaying (2 left/2 Right) does it need to be reset using STAR?

Maybe they are not plugged correctly,, STAR cannot re set them as far as I can see,,did they remove them or have they been painted as well, if they have that could be the problem

I had this when I took my W220 to Stratstone Jaguar for a service, they had knocked one of the sensors back into the bumper and as it was permanently in proximity of the inside of the bumper it showed as two red bars when the Parkmatic was switched on.

The sensors have a cut off when too close to an object for a length of time I think and will shut down. I removed my bumper and reseated the sensor with a blob of glue and it all worked again.

It sounds like yours may have been painted over and need replacing. For the record I wouldn't use the Jag dealer again, I used them as a mate worked there but they hadnt got a clue about my W220 and couldn't fix anything with it!

Parking Sensors not Connected!!!

Today I had my car booked in at my local independent Meredes Dealer to have mt IAT Sensor changed, while it was there I asked them to investigate my non working parking sensors, after investigation they noticed that they were not re connected after having the front bumper removed for respraying, re connected and now all working good! ;)
