Hi all,

I'd like to fit some parking sensors on to my C200 and was wondering if anyone else has done this type of mod?

I have come across these two models...

1) Reverse Parking Sensor Kit with Digital Display
2) Quanan 1840 Parking Sensor Kit

Or there are very cheap kits, like this one, on ebay

Which would you recommend? One with a LED display or one without? If I got one with a display where could I mount it without it looking hideous against my beige interior (i think the displays are all black?).

Any tips/info greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

I have a JVC stereo that has a 3" LCD...

So I've seen this reverse camera with night vision on ebay.

It says it's to be fitted onto the bumper, but I'm wondering if it could be mounted into the boot lock? But then if the battery goes flat how I do I get into the boot???

Hope someone can point me in the right direction :)

Just out of curiosity, why do you need a reverse camera on a C class merc,You are only siting a metre away from the rear windscreen..You also have two rear view mirrors and a centre one.........

Hi Nicky,

Don't really need a reverse camera but i was just suggesting it as I already have a screen that it can attach to.

You're right that I'm only sitting about a metre away from the windscreen and i have rear view mirrors.

I find that sometimes I have to 'guess' how much space I have behind me when reverse parking. Especially when I am trying not to kerb my rims at the same time. This invloves me getting out sometime to check.

I think the parking sensor would be better than the camera.

Surely they can't be that bad??? I mean on the new C-Class's they are pretty much standard now?

Nicky,

Please leave this thread as now you are being rude for no reason. Have I said anything to offend you? I merely posted here to seek some advise but your comments are uncalled for. I have only had the upmost respect for your knowledge going by previous posts you have made that I have read. I'm honestly very offended.

For your information, I have a girlfriend but I would not expect her to get out to help me reverse. Also she is quite capable of reversing her own car as am I. I stated that "sometimes" I have difficulty when reversing into tight london spaces. Why are parking sensors fitted on most new cars as standard? It's not because people can't reverse - it's there as an extra guide.

I hope that someone else will be able to help me out without being so rude.

Thank you.

Nicky,

Seems as though your post was removed ?

Apology accepted - To be fair, I can see the funny side of the post you made, but I did think it was a bit harsh.

Do you think you can still offer me any advise about the parking sensors? I do know that your a very knowledgable lady :) and hoping you can help.

Would the AMG springs drop the car low enough?

I have been offered a set of used C36 AMG springs for £70 - do you think this is worth it?

I want the car to be low but without causing any rubbing (I have 8J width rims and 225 width tyres so I don't think this will be a problem?)

I guess the sping pads can be changed too to adjust the drop.

I just don't like the tractor look I have at the moment :(

yes i think the AMG would leave it sitting correct,if you go too low you will end up with the inside of the tyres wearing away, too low and you will need to correct the camber angle...
