Parktronic - both displays show 4 red dots

Happened once a couple of days ago, then cleared after restart.

Today it happened again and this time didn't go away: both displays showed four red dots each, then after a minute or two, both went off and the [Parktronic deactivated] button light came on. Pressing the button immediately would not cancel the light, but after a minute or so - it would, so the four dots would come on again ...

The chances that, two sensors failed simultaneously both front and back are slim ... so what could it be? I'll check the fuse tomorrow, and will also check the two other button on the same switch pack - tow away alarm deactivation and internal sensor deactivation - if the switch pack is faulty, its other functions might be affected.

Other than 'get it plug on STAR', what else can I look for in the mean time?

I just went through 12 pages of search results, and didn't find anything other than above advice, also it seems the vast majority of cases it was a single faulty sensor so either front or rear display went 'four dots'.

Thanks, that's very kind, appreciate it.

I have all day free on Thursday, if that's OK?
Alternatively, mid-late afternoons on Wednesday and Friday?

I'm working from home Wednesday so that's probably best.

More than likely David that moisture has got into one of the connectors for a sensor, had that on my 211 at times, disconnect and clean of the pins and didn't get a problem again until one actually failed on me

Thanks Matt, would that require taking the bumpers off? I suspect it's a yes ...

Rears probably okay from underneath on your back but the front just needs the strip removing rather than a bumper off job I think, we haven't got PDC on the 169 so I'm comparing it to the 211 but can't be that different I wouldn't think.

I'll check WIS, once Alastair done with STAR magic, and we know which sensor is playing up.

Mine does this when the car is dirty. Wiping the sensors fixes it.
