parktronic problem in s320cdi

everytime i turn on my s320 the partronic light says on shutting the system off, when i go to press it it beeps stays on for around 5 secs then turns off again.

What could be the problem and how costly is it to rectify?

You either have a faulty sensor or a wiring fault.

A Multimeter and some time checking the sensors is needed. A Star will also show up the faulty sensor.

Take out the inner boot liner on the nearside and you will see the wires from back bumper comming up from the bottom, they are stuck to the side wall with a kind of sticky velcro.
Take apart the connection and give it good cleaning plus a shot of wd40.
This worked for me hope it does for you.
