Hi All

I have a E320 W210 (2000) with Comand. Reading the various threads in this forum it seems that I will not be able to change the integrated MB Nokia 6210i kit for my Sony Ericsson P990i.

I have read good reviews for the Parrot CK3300 & although I will lose the steering wheel controls I would rather do this than keep changing the SIM over.

Does anyone know if the CK3300 will connect to the car speakers and can I use the mute function?

Thanks in advance

Parrot CK3100 & COMAND

OK I will answer this question myself. I bit the bullet & bought the Parrot CK3100 kit.

The installation was easy. The kit comes with 2 x ISO sockets with a looped connection. I unplugged the dual ISO from the back of the COMAND unit. Attached one end to the speakers plug form the CK3100 and the looped end back into COMAND. The only thing to look for is the Battery feed and the ignition feed. The COMAND unit does not have a switched 12+ ignition feed & the 12V+ battery feed is on a different pin to what the CK3100 is prewird to. A quick test with a multi meter showed I had to swap pin 1 with 7 on the CK3100 ISO to coincide with the 12v+ battery feed COMAND expects. I found a 12v+ ignition feed controlling the heated seats/door lock switch assembley unit found above the COMAND unit.

The microphone was installed by the rear view mirror and ran the cable along the head lining and down the pillar, under the steering bulkhead and into the CK3100 control unit. I removed the ashtray and installed the LCD display. This is perfect as I can close the flap so nothing is on show.

Once powered up the unit worked 1st time and like a dream. Once paired with the Sony Ericsson my contacts were sync'd with the CK3100 allowing caller ID and voice dialling.

The sound through the cars speakers is crisp & clean and the mute works without any further work.

All in all I am well pleased with the end result. Hope this helps.
