Congratulations on your MB looks ok, it depends on how much you want to pay, some of these things after 1990 were possible to get colour coded from MB, those bits were never that expensive, other than that a breaker could help, dont forfet the fixing clips.

I can see it is raining with you:rolleyes:

yep been raining all soddding day! not bothered if the part is colourcoded as i can spray so will flick some paint on it anyways,

dont mind paying a reasonable amount as its the one bit that lets the car down.

had many E30 bmws before but thought id try a 190 for a change!

Well im confused to say the least............ i bought the car blind from ebay, from a garage local to me. they said headgasket was gone and engine would not fire due to the loss of compression caused by the gasket going............

Well the car was delivered to me today on the back of a low loader and once it was off the lorry and the guy had gone i had a good look and i found the following.............

no coolant in coolant tank/pipes BUT.....

no sign of water in the oil (oil is black so hasnt just been changed)
no trace of oil/mayo in the coolant pipes or expansion tank....

even stranger was i tried starting the car........ and it started after a few cranks, idled fine too (only ran it for a few secs as i havent thrown any coolant in yet).

seems very odd, think tomorrow il throw in some water and see if its just that it has a water leak somewhere rather than it being a headgasket failure. very strange, garage is a reputable recovery garage and ive done a HPI on the car and all is well.
