Particulate Filter for S350 2013 W221

Has anyone encountered problems obtaining a replacement particulate filter for an S350 L diesel? Mine packed up and a replacement was ordered last October. I was told by Mercedes Benz UK that there is a problem getting parts from Germany and told part not likely to be sourced before 1st March 2018. I am told now that it will be dispatched from Germany on 26th March. I have been running loan cars for past 3 Months after pointing out that the situation was dangerous.

Can't you just buy a non MB one to tide you over ?
Edit , I've just realised you mean the dpf . I take it they can't clean it then ?

No, apparently they can’t an Mercedes-Benz UK have just advised that latest is that despatch is now due on 11th April with arrival at my dealer 2-5 days later, 6 months after being ordered but not holding my breath as this is the third date.
