Evening Gents,

Got a bit of a problem I'm hoping you can assist with.

The passenger side lumbar/pulse functions do not seem to work in the 2001 CL55 I have recently purchased. (Silly me didnt check it when buying but oh well)...

Anyway, the drivers side works perfectly and to eliminate the likelihood of the actual switch being faulty I swapped the drivers side and passenger side ones around...the actual switches are fine as when I put the passenger one onto the driver side, all functions worked fine, but when attaching the drivers side switch to passenger side, still nothing!..and when I say nothing I mean nothing, the red light does not even appear when pressing the pulse button on passenger side... Everything else on the car, (soft close doors/boot) works fine.

The only difference under the seat/switch I noticed was that the drivers side seemed to have some sort of white 'line/pipe' attached to the switch wiring WITH a nipple on the end (apologies I do not know how to upload photos in text) and the passenger side DID NOT have a nipple at the end of the line...if someone can tell me how to upload pics i will be more than happy as i took some on my iphone...

Anyway, to describe this nipple ... it is dark grey with a blue ring in it and is connected to a white thin line/pipe. To me it seems like some sort of bleed nipple??

Anyhow, that is the difference at the moment between the seat which functions and the one which doesnt.

1) Seems no power to pass side seat switch as no light when pulse button pressed

2) No nipple on pass side

I want it working..any ideas on what the culprit is? Anyone had similar issues with their pulse/lumbar support functions on a merc of that era/age???

There is just the one pipe from the rear of the car that split with a T piece and then goes to each seat. The pipe line plugs into the switch assembly

The led should be on though and in the event of a pipe line fault it only stays on for 2 seconds when you push the massage button.

These pipes used to fracture under the seat and it may have been blanked off

Thanks Television.

Although the light does not come on at all...

Also, the pipe with the 'nipple' over the end of the white pipe is the side that is working, the passenger side without the nipple is not.

I do not know what the white nipple is, there are standard fittings on these things there is one pipe going to the front of the seat by the switch on the front of the seat, it looks as though someone has had a go.

Both sides are identical

Hi television
The nipple is either piece 20 or piece 50 in that diagram, but is under the seat next to the switch...
I'm thinking of taking it to have it diagnosed, an i wasting my money or will star pick up the exact issue?

That is where the pipe plugs in to the seat...I do not think diagnostic will help much on this.if the seat has the pipe plugged in the same as the drivers side then just the LED bit

You have fuses 63 and 64 for the seats for these features

If the incorrect door control ECU the n69/10 has been fitted, then this function cannot work. I say incorrect as I am sure it is a special with these seats, and they did have a habit of failing, either that ot the door ECU the N69/10 has not been coded by STAR all of this is for the LED bit and the switches
