Hi,
Well i,ve finally taken my new C43 out, one word 'awesome' what a great car.
BUT i,ve noticed that the PDC does,nt work switch it on from the centre console switch (on being when the led in the switch is extinguished) the 2 front displays and the 1 rear illuminate and theres a buzzer, but after a few seconds the displays go out and the led on the switch is back on.
I have read a few post re: PDC and the main problem seems to be dirty bumper sensors. I have noticed that the bumpers have been painted and the sensors too. Could this possibly the cause?
Any ideas, information would be gladly recieved,
many thanks

There is more to it than this, any paint would cause the sensors to malfunction, and this would not affect the display

So if its not the sensors could it be a control unit for it somewhere?

Info needs to be read via Star diagnosis machine. Check actual values of sensors. These range from about 255cm down to 20ish. Six front, four rear. Each one checked in turn. In 13 years I have never replaced a parktronic control unit but loads of sensors. See "BlackC55". He sounds like your local (ish) indie.

That's the distance each sensor can measure. This is all displayed via "actual values" menu in Star. You will probably find one of the sensors is reading zero, when there is nothing front & rear of the car ( they would all be reading 255cm if all working correctly & the car is in an open space)
