It will be fine, I once put 20 litres into a 2008 C220d. I just topped it up with diesel, nothing happened. I would avoid two stroke though, the zinc content can foul injectors.

and the petrol will damage the injector because there's no lube... so a dash would be better than not

Oh ok, I hadn't really thought of it like that. But generally it's not a good idea. I have experience of adding it to a 530d I uaed to have. I decided it caused a lumpy idle that stopped after I ceased using it.

in most cases the manufacturer knew what they were doing and adding rubbish is a waste/ damaging.

use high spec oils, fluids and fuel.... the average layman (and I include myself there) have no idea what extras the decent stuff has in it or exactly how it helps, but for sure its way better than the junk you can buy to damage your vehicle. When it comes to 5ks worth of modern injection kit buying the junk from morrisons coz its 4p a litre cheaper is utter madness,

Is there an additive one can add to increase lubrication of the fuel pump/injectors? I have personal experience of adding two stroke oil, it wasn't good. Or maybe just a tank of the expensive stuff once and a while?

You'll be fine. It used to be standard practice to put a gallon of petrol into a tank of diesel to help prevent it from freezing in winter.

It used to be std to buy a 2 lt plus car and simply bolt on a tow bar!! Now it sure ain't, not on Benz anyway. I used to put petrol on my diesel g wagon in winter. It was even described in the owner manual.....

in the good old days when we had lead in petrol it had great properties that helped

a) kept us simple so we didn't need to worry the world was ending
b) had lubricating properties
c) raised the octane rating allowing you to tune it up a bit more

on a tractor you get a cetane rating, and this product adds other extras
https://www.millersoils.co.uk/products/diesel-power-ecomax/

it will make it run better,
maybe increase performance
