Phone paired

I have a 2013 Sprinter 316. I paired my phone to the standard van radio. I can play music from my phone through van radio, when the phone rings it rings through the car radio however the conversation doesn't come through the phone. I have to hold phone to my ear to use it. neither caller or receiver of call voice comes through van speaker. Can anyone tell me is it a faulty radio or have I missed something on setup. Thanks

some vehicles the BT music is a totally different connection procedure to BT Phone calls

so for privacy it rings when music is playing, but then you can take the call privately
