Phone/radio mute

Hi, I have a 53 reg W211 with a nokia kit installed but the yellow radio mute wire isnt connected, does anyone know where to connect it, do I need to tear the dash out to get to the radio?

Not sure you have anywhere to connect it. The installer couldn't mute the radio in our 2003 211. Something to do with the audio gateway.

Thanks, but we have another 211 and that one mutes, suppose I could have a look where that one is connected.

This can be done on on the W211. There is a wire running from the AGW in the boot along the car which is left unterminated under the front near side door kick plate.

Simply locate this cable and connect it to the yellow wire on the Nokia car kit. I did this on my car and it worked with no issues. My car had full comand so I'm unsure if its different on vehicles without.

I can't remember the colour of the cable at the moment

You may find that the MB plug doesn't have a contact for the phone/mute wire. Simply pop down to any motor factors and purchase an ISO socket to ISO pin connector. You can then wire in phone/mute without having to damage your MB loom.
