Photo competition time folks! :D

This little 'gadget' has been bugging me since I bought the car. I have no idea what it is though I think it is something to do with the phone kit.

On the picture below.... look below the right hand side radio buttons, and below the round telephone switch.... you will see what looks like a miniature airfreshener. What is it? It has a thin wire at the rear going behind the dashboard.

Oh... it also has a tiny blue light at night (probably during the day too but it's not obvious then).

That is for using the phone kit in Bluetooth mode, can be used to answer and hang up on phone calls.

Thanks Bob.

Can it be used for any Phone then? The cradle is for a Nokia and I have a Blackberry curve which obviously doesn't fit! Pretty sure my Blackberry has bluetooth though.

You can try it, not all phones work with Nokia kits though. Turn your bluetooth on on the phone then search for new devices. If it finds the Nokia kit (ck7w by the looks of it) then it will ask for a pass code. Most Nokias are 0000 or 1234, try that and see if it pairs up.

Make sure the ignition is on aswell so the kit is powered up!!

It looks broken to me. It's this kit

but I can't see the main button on yours. Maybe the photo but it looks to have dropped off to me.
The cradle can be removed. It was an additional component for the kit but it will work happily without it.

Thanks Guys!

Just gone to the car. Switched the bluetooth on on the Blackberry for the first time ever. Searched for devices and it found the Nokia CK7W. Entered 0000 to pair the device and it connected straight away.

It doesn't seem to work with the In Car controls - says 'No Phone'. But works fine if I use the phone to make a receive calls... mutes the radio and the quality is superb. The steering wheel controls don't work but I guess that is because it say's 'no phone'.

Absolutely delighted with this!! :D What a bonus.

Hi Blassberg, does your Bluetooth phone work from the steering wheel controls?

Yours won`t work from the steering wheel controls as it`s a totally independant kit which hasn`t been integrated into the cars system. You will need a complete new kit for this to work with the cars controls.

And there was me originally thinking it was an airfreshener until I tried to pull it off and realised there was a wire behind it!! :p
