Audio 10 "in-dash" CD player.
I know the subject has been looked at before.
Hoping for an update.
I am hoping that someone has "Cracked" the MB CD player.
Has anyone found a way for "Backup" CD's to play in the Audio 10?
Some of my home burned CDs play but it always misses the first few seconds of the first track.
I am looking for the settings for the Burning program or other ripping/burning tricks that will allow Burned CDs to play.
Perhaps a particular Burner?
Thanks,
Joe

CDs burned on a home computer are not the same as commercial ones.

Commercial CDs are pressed like a gramophone record and the laser detector gets a good signal to see the difference between one and a nought.

Computer ones are burnt which is more like a photographic process and the contrast between a one and a nought is less which is more difficilt for the player to detect.

Later model players are better than older types many of which will never play computer CDs.

If some of yours will play then you may find that the make of disc is critical but sometimes a big improvement can be achieved by recording the disc slowly at 1X or 2X rather than 24X or 48X. The slower speed gives the laser more time to burm the disc and achieve a greater contrast .

Wheather your player will play MP3 coded disks is purly a software issue.

Thanks Alec,
I have about 30 CDs that I have tried every setting I can think of.
They will play on even the cheap portable players but not on the Audio 10.
I am hoping that someone has found the right balance of compatible blank CD, Burning software and settings.
My latest efforts were to play with the Pregap times but I must say, I'm not getting anywhere with that. Too hard!!!

I know that the Audio 10 will not play MP3s.

I know that my Laptop Burner will not produce anything that will come close to working. The CD is ejected with an error message.
CDs made on my Desktop will play after about 15 seconds of "hunting".
That means that I am close but as they say, "No Cigar".
They do however, play in the CD Changer.

coolpot,
That's fine but there is no mention of what "Blanks" to use.

Maddog,
I think I will try iTunes.
The changer is not the problem.
The "In-dash" Audio 10 is the problem.
What CDRs do you use?

Ah, you'll have to fold the CD disks in half (be careful of splinters) before you can insert them in this particular player.
They might not work though.

:):):)

I'm confused as to what their problem is , if the changer works ok but the head unit wont play CDR's then the solution seems obvious to me
