Hey guys! I have an issue and zero idea how to go about fixing it. Here's a brief explanation, of my issue. When I bought the car the car was lowered (with links and had the ABC Lights). The guy had told me that the ABC light was only there because the car was lowered and no other issue, so I thought it was really good but now that I did diagnoses it looks like there is definitely an issue with the ABC. Basically, the car is currently locked at a specific height, and clicking the raise button does nothing, also a wheel alignment can't be done without fixing this according to someone from Mercedes.

Here are the errors that I have from the ABC:
- Level calibration was not successfully carried out
- Malfunction in pressure supply
- Load adjustment not successfully performed
- Fault in component B22/1 (Left rear plunger travel sensor)

Here are the values from the components. Note that the car was not on a flat surface (on an incline in the driveway with the front of the car being higher than the rear)

Pressure Sensor:
- B4/5 (ABC Pressure Sensor): 179 Bar

Plunger Travel Sensor:
- Left Front 41mm
- Right Front 42mm
- Left Rear 255mm
- Right Rear 49mm

Vehicle Level Sensor + Voltages:
- Left Front 29mm 1.98V
- Right Front 28mm 3.00V
- Left Rear 26mm 2.98V
- Right Rear 31mm 1.96V

Is there anything that I can try before having to replace the whole strut? When I brought it to my mechanic he at the time tried to do a wheel alignment and failed but also messed up the leveling. But when fixing it and relocking it in, he was able to move all the struts up and down and lock it in. How do I lock the height in STAR? I just got the knock-off system today. The vehicle I have is the W220 S55 AMG 2004 from North America

Something going on with left rear. You can adjust heights with xentry, star assuming related errors don't exist. You cud try swapping the level sensors over to see if prob remains in same place or migrates., temperamental system, was a few Yr ago but it took me an hr to lock in my heights as all same. Think depending on when you hit the button u cud be up or down 6mm,might hav been +/-10mm.
However I don't get how Yr ride height button does nothing, unless it's related to the previous lowering. I wud investigate the integrity of that function first.

The level sensors seem to be okay (unless you mean the plunger travel sensor, in which case I don’t think they can be removed easily on the w220). I’ll try and take a look after work on the star system why the height button on the car doesn’t work. Possibly as issue with a fuse maybe. Does anyone know where the fuse for that could be?

Pretty sure the plunger travel sensor is integral to the strut and not a replaceable part.

Pretty sure the plunger travel sensor is integral to the strut and not a replaceable part.

Both our r230's had travel plunger sensors replaced 3 months apart. (These are separate items) One specialist charge £400 to fit.
The other specialist charged close to a grand. We weren't impressed
