A hard one for me as these are usually updated version, but it does not say, one with near enough the same codes could be OK

cant see it making alot of difference, but my box could still be good, no oil at all but there was loads of oil come out of the plug in the gearbox but maybe thats as far as it got.

Strange thing is these ECU hardly ever fail, was there a chance that you over torqued the screw on the pilot bush, its only 3nm

If you have over tighten it, you wont be able to undo it, the nut will just spin in the housing!!! then you have to brake it out the plate and replace both.....

Ummm lots of guessing going here and we havent had a fault code read or put up?

May I suggest doing this first, afterall it could be a failed battery with a severe loss of crank voltage throwing the gearbox straight into limp....it its the season for it now, plummeting nighttime temps are starting to kill batteries, I did 2 C Classes this week.

iv had my own hand held diognostic scan tool on the merc but no faults where shown, would i need a merc one on her, also i put a multi metre on the battery and she is charging 13 plus when running.

Very few hand held diagnostics read the gearbox ECU. With STAR you can look at actual value data of the electrics kit to see if its out of range, look at adaptation data on the gearbox shift elements and more importantly get a proper fault code!!

Id like to thank everyone for there help in my mercedes, but today the problem was solved, so just for heads up for other people, iv heard many people ask the question when fitting a conductor plate or plug etc does it need going on the computer to have faults clear and most sites iv looked on said no,

today i had the merc on a diognostic computer and there was a few codes, from my old faulty parts so i had them deleted and hey presto, she is running perfect and smoothly,

Big thanks to television , Cole@MBS , Gkinghorn , Steve@Avantgarde ,

So thanks to all, great site and appreciate the help. :D
