Please help coolant problem

Need help please, today I changed the fuel filter housing on my 2013 E220 coupe diesel, now ecu light is on , slight loss of power going into the red before changing gears, the big water pipe going from engine to radiator isn't getting water as its shrinking like a sheet of paper, I'm totally lost what I've done wrong

Low coolant in the expansion bottle .. when a hot engine cools down it draws water from the expansion tank . the coolant in the expansion tank is then sucked back in to the engine . but thats only if fluid tank is full . If there is no coolant in the expansion tank to be drawn back in to the engine . then the top hose will go flat . Just top up the expansion tank and for second measure buy a new expansion tank cap it will have pressure on the cap so get the right one from Mwercedes .

You have vaccum in the system not fluid. WHS above.
Did you loose coolant doing the job.

A lot of the modern cooling systems need vacuum filled due to the complexities of the pipework and potential locations for air pockets.

Leave it to cool overnight and check the level in the morning. If you find you can get a couple of litres in tomorrow it’ll probably be ok.
