Thanks all update - took it to my friend who blew it out down the motorway for me to ensure it was being done correctly (hes a petrolhead) and it definately regained some power. He turned off eml and put dpf cleaner in it and i drove it for about 45 mins in manual at 3000rpm -eml stayed off entire time. Parked up the car for a few hours and the minute i turned it back on eml was on again. So i think a trip to a specialist is on the cards. Will keep driving this weekend to see if it changes but will call first thing monday if not. Thanks for the advice really appriciate it - always feel you are getting ripped off being a single woman knowing nothing about cars!

It pays dividends knowing even the basics. My current girlfriend was a rally driver while at university and surprisingly knew quite a bit about cars. She's shocked quite a few mechanics by telling 'Them' what's wrong with her car. And then says "so there, I'm not your average dipsy blonde!!!"
And with her masters in chemistry, she knows her stuff.
Are intelligent women sexy?!! You're damn right they are!!!

Cant really be wrong as mechanic himself said he has no idea the car has lost power and been driving weird, codes that have come up have been fuel injector, air filter and e haust related which another mechanic explained could be dpf issues. My mechanic must have thought this for giving me the run it up the motorway advice. Friend done it yesterday and has finally gained some power back so i suspect it is related to the dpf rather than the internal computer system. But will find out tomorrow :)

Daimler AG ("DAG"), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on certain Model Year ("MY") 2012-2014 Mercedes-Benz vehicles of various models (204 platforms) the software of the Engine Electronics Control Unit ("ECU") may not meet production specifications, which could result in a Malfunction Indicator Light being displayed while no fault is present in the control unit. An authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will update the engine ECU software for the affected vehicles.

C-Class (204) due to a software fault in the communication module as provided by the supplier, the date and time as determined from the GPS satellite data could differ from the actual date and time starting on November 4, 2019. The correct date and time are necessary for the "Assisted-GPS" function to determine the vehicle position. Dealer will update communication module software

Ok final update! Took my friend to his work garage that services his trucks etc and asked the mechanic there for his opinion. He turned it on and immediately said i have an air leak as he could hear it. When he looked the air pip was wet and theres a big hole! We have a solution after spending 600 quid at the last garage!

This is why we almost all recommend using “Indy’s” - Independents who are real specialists and usually grew up through the trade and work with MBs all the time. They save us a lot of money first with their experience and secondly with hourly rates dramatically less than dealerships.

Best thing is to find an established reputable MB specialist reasonably local to you and use them.
I think Welwyn Merx was suggested or Wayne Gates (Harrow). Both have good reputations on here.
The forum is useful if you are able to do work yourself but often the replies will be technical and require a certain level of spanner awareness. There will also often be a certain amount of guesswork on our part if descriptions aren't completely accurate as we are effectively diagnosing blind. In your instance above one of the codes did point to an air leak. I would have expected your mechanic to have followed that up - a pity they didn't.
Sometimes a single fault can trigger other issues. For example some engine issues such as a failed thermostat will prevent a DPF regen from starting which leads to a blocked DPF, which in some places leads to a mechanic wanting to change the DPF at great cost. That will fix it temporarily but the same problem will come straight back because the real cause (failed thermostat not allowing the engine to reach normal operating temperature) hasn't been identified.
And of course, a failed thermostat won't throw an error code....

I intended a light hearted humerous remark NBurns as my Van has given me many restless nights, long days and mounting bills, but the wife reckons im happiest when i am in my mancave stuck under the bonnet or underneath it for some strange reason:D

I recently purchased a 2012 Cls250 cdi amg sport and when it went into limp mode and engine management light appeared I went and had it plugged in the codes were P0546-15 Temp sensor P2080-27 Temp sensor P200A-75 cylinder bank 1 and also P2119-07 throttle valve , the car felt like it had lost all of its low end power and torque the garage I bought it from said swirl flap actuator but I took it to a Merc specialist and he changed the exhaust sensor and it’s sorted it .the sensor was around £180
