I have a 1996 W202 C200 117000 miles runs fine b ut i have a beige like thick oily substance in the radiator
i have flushed the system many time but it still comes back

i have had the water checked at a garage for exhaust gass and they tell me that there are non and that the head gasket is ok??
but im puzzled
there is no sign of any wqater in the engine oil or gerarbox oil?
the car runs fine no misfire etc , does not overheat

any ideas ???

is it possible that the head gasket is leaking oil into the water but not the other way round

does not seem to use oil
but uses some water
would be greatfull for any help

Yes it is possible,,it depends where the leak is on the head gasket. This could be where the oil feed goes to the rockers.

Just asking here,,would a rad seal product work for this

I had the same problem with exactly the same car a few years back but at 150,000 miles.

It was the head gasket, it eventually failed completely in a more typical way.

In spite of that it was that car that converted me to a MB driver! Sold that one with 180,000 on the clock when I found the SL

Yes always,,cast iron is very unstable at the best of times, and for what it cost and all that work have it done, you will get slightly more power free :D
