Hey hope someone knows how to help...so skint...such bad timing!!!

mercedes c180 kompresser 2005 (54 plate) automatic 2 door unleaded
ok so here goes...
petrol deffinatly ran dry
filled 2 small jerry cans 9ltrs approx
car wont start, tickeng over as normal but wont start
hour or morerlater petrol still not reaching the engin ticking has slowed ( due to battery dying i suppose)
breack down recovery tries to spray something into the engine (not sure what that was). He believes the fuel filter has something lodged so tries to shake the car about ...no joy.
i checked all the fuses in the back boot all working except no.10 (alas my internet research tells me this is just back window heater - although i think my back window heater is actually working so maybe i am wrong about the function of this fuse?
fuses in the bonnet are all dead. battery?
still some battery in the car as the lights in the dash turn on, windows ect.
car not ticking as it should just does like 1 tick every time i turn the key.

thanking you in advance!

First place to start is to check the fuel pressure, you will need a pressure tester connected to the injector rail to check this. Sadly I think this may have to go to an Indie for diagnosis.

My guess is that some crap at the bottom of the tank has blocked the fuel filter. I would try renewing that= cheap and simple fix . Other possibility is that the pump has burnt out as it relies on fuel to lubricate and cool it= expensive

fuel pump relay is R1 fuel pump fuse is F4 20A F14 is a spare
