Plug in hybrid

I have just bought a 22 plate 250e plug in petrol hybrid.
Everytime I charge it up, even though I do not engage the electric engine, it drains really quickly.
Anybody help??

What are you charging with? A wall box or a "granny charger" from a 13A socket? After you charge it, what does the charge indicator on the dashboard show? It should be reading in the high 30's up to 40 if you are lucky. How quickly is quickly? You will drain more out of the battery miles than the geographical miles, especially in winter with lights and heating on. In winter, mine drains 15miles for a 10 mile journey at night.

But if you are not using electric drive at all, then something is wrong. If you bought from a dealer, take it back. There is an 8 year warranty on the battery from new but I don't know if this transfers to new owners.
