Po172 System Too Rich (bank1)

hi..
i have a C200K coupe(2003).. the em light has come on and i got a local mechanic to have a look at it. he wasnt too sure what the actual problem was but said it may have something to do with oxygen sensors. can anyone give me more info on what it might be???

It is possible you have oil leaking from your camshaft adjustment magnet, this could of put oil in to the engine wiring loom. Going to the 02 sensors and possibly the engine control unit. If this is the case then you will need to replace the maget, engine wiring loom. Clean the ecu, clean the O2 sensors and fit a adapator loom for the magnet. Your local mb Parts dept will help you with the parts you need.

Get your mechanic to check this first.
