Polystyrene cover.

Hi, should there be a moulded polystyrene cover that goes directly on top of the injectors underneath the the top engine cover. Car is C Class 2.2 Diesel auto Bluetec 64 plate. ? I ask because I has some work done and I am sure it was there before, but now missing.

Should be something like an inch thick moulding of some sorts.

Yes that's right. come to think of it, not sure if mine was fitted with one. I am sure the W204 had one.

They can be awkward to put back. I need rotate mine and then manipulate each time.
Easier to chuck it and assume you won't notice.
