E-Class W212 pre-facelift/ 2013/ E220 OM651
I recently bought a W212 E220 2013 pre-facelift model. Everything seems to be fine with the car other than when it rains, water leaks solely into the the drivers side foot well. What makes this case even more odd is this only occurs when the car is parked angled downhill. My drive doesn't even have a dramatic gradient, only a slight angle. But when I park facing downhill and it rains, there is a whole pool of water in the drivers footwell, however when parked uphill... nothing. None of the other footwells are affected by this issue. I cleaned the windscreen gutters of debris and checked the drains with water and they flow water perfectly out to under the car. As a result I am at a loss what the reason may be. Could anyone suggest anything I may have overlooked? Thanks.

I had this in my old C class (no sunroof), but on the passenger side. I cleared the drain channels close to the windscreen and behind the bonnet. That cured it.

Check the bottom of the drivers door interior trim (aka door card) for damp. If the seal that seals the metal plate (behind the door card) pulls away from the metal door itself them the water that usually flows through the door and out from the drain holes in the bottom can get guided into the car.....a little silicone between the plate and the door sorted it. Also check that the drain holes in the bottom of the door are not blocked with dirt. If the seal is only failing at the front of the door then this would explain why it only leaks when nose down. The only reason I suggest this I because I had exactly this issue when I bought my PFL 212.........it could of course be something completely different!!!:D

Bonnet release cable is a possibility, but we have also seen poor panel sealant on the bulkhead on w212 allowing water into the driver footwell. Certainly not common, but seen a couple. The first one took a lot of finding

Well, when It occurred one time, water seemed to be dripping from the red bonnet release lever inside the cab located underneath the steering wheel. Do you think this would be related to the issue you outlined? If so where might the water be coming in from? Cheers.
