Poor fuel economy

Hi everyone

I have a C180 W204 engine , i feel my vehicle is very heavy on fuel
On R100 , I get only 30KM on short daily runs ,on freeway I'll get about 45KM

Is this normal

Also I took it to a machine and the diagnostic pulled up the following errors , anyone can relate ?

w204 is type not engine.

A W204 C180 will have an M271 engine.
They are not a very efficient engine for fuel economy.
Does the temperature gauge show around 90c when up to full temperature? If not a new thermostat might help with fuel consumption.
Easy DIY with a few YouTube videos showing how its done.

With regard to the fault codes shown, beyond my scope but I'd suggest a Mercedes specialist should be able to solve the issues.

The two big round cam magnets on the top front of the engine . Disconnect the electrical plug that goes to each one and see if there is any oil in them .
