Poor Quality Alloys

The alloys on my 2001 C200K Avantgarde are starting to errode & oxidise already. I had one wheel replaced under warranty, however the car is now out of warranty.
Surely the alloys should be good for a lot longer than this? They have not been curbed or scuffed in any way, and have been well looked after. I personally think they are lacking in a good coat of laquer.
Anybody, know how receptive the dealer might be to me pursuing this out of warranty - Do I have a case?

An interesting question. I washed my car today and cleaned the alloy wheels and noticed they were not all in the same condition. I suspect one may be a replacement.

The other 3 alloy wheels are starting to corrode but it will take several years before it comes a problem. I may have to invest in a new set in a few years time if I wish to retain the car's good looks.

I, too, would expect the alloys to last more than 5 years but the reality is quite different. I doubt that you can claim for new alloys. But maybe another member knows different. Let's see who else replies.

A friend of mine got a set done for £25 per wheel last week in Glasgow,the company is called=Recoat LTD=0141 958 1777.

What you really need is a company to lend you a spare set while they do yours. I use a local company near Boston who seem to have no end of 'loan wheels' available.
