POOR service and damage by MERCEDES at EDMONTON (NORTH LONDON)

Hello fellow Merc owners,


I am writing this to warn you NOT to use the MERCEDES centre in Edmonton (North London). This is my story. I recently took my E270 '03 in for an inspection and vallet. When I picked my car up a few weeks ago after the vallet I checked the car and they had grazed the front painwork just under the headlights. Being obsidan black it is noticable. Has there were already some paint peels on the near area when I dropped the car off Mercedes took pictures of this area. The area they took pictures is the same area where the graze has occured. Therefore, Mercedes have their own evidence that the graze was not there when the car was dropped off.

I pointed this out to the service manager and she said would get back. Not only did they have the cheek to ask for £100 for the vallet they have been difficult to get in touch with and complaints to the manager have been ignored. I have been calm ad considerate but now their POOR service is unacceptable.

I would therefore like to warn all fellow Merc owners NOT to go to MERCEDES Benz in Edmonton as the staff arre rude, poorly trained and your car will be driven by a YTS kid with no consideration for your vehicle.

I Run a Chauffeur Co and as a result of keeping customers happy have to
keep buying Merc...
We've used EVERY dealer in the Metropolitain area with every experience
ranging from Bad to Apalling.
We even started to take them 24 miles from our offices to Dartford
where the service used (until 18 months ago) to be very good.
Now it has to BOXER MOTOR WORKS in Ashford every time/no bull****,
pleasant professional staff,fast turnaround,courtesy car,HALF THE PRICE
OF MERCEDES and customer SERVICE like it should be.
REMEMBER kiddies thanks to the nice people in Europe you no longer
have to take your pride and joy to the place you bought it from
to keep your warranty.

Hence, despite 2 services in the last 9 months, mine hasn't been back to the dealer since I bought it!
Mobilio is worth £100 per year and would only take your car to a dealer who would then charge you the earth to fix it. Direct line etc would take it to your indy who would fix it more quickly for a lower price.
You can always bob it down to the dealer for any warranty repairs and use the indie for everything else and the argument that FMBSH is worth anything on trade in is bunkum.

There is an argument going on in Sweden right now with an A Class 1999 with servere rust problems, the car has been serviced by MB, but the owner always changed his own oil, and as he say how the hell can me changing the oil make the car go rusty, I will let you know the outcome.

maybe the oil sneaks out at night and decides to rust the paitwork !!!!

On a serious note, I think I need to find a decent non mercedes aligned service centre in the future !!!!!

MB's argument may be that whilst undertaking oil changes they assess the car and note any advisories to the owner - such as stone chips. If MB hasn't done the oil changes then they cannot have assessed the car so cannot have advised on the paint so it rusted QED.

Sorry the rust is around the rear wheel arches, no stone chips there, shame I cant put the photo up. The car has had the services done with MB, owner was like me and he preffered to change the oil at half the recomended time.
