"My wife's 09 Golf with 53k miles was diagnosed by VW dealer as requiring replacement dual mass fly wheel + obviously new clutch, and replacement for broken rear spring. The proposed work + parts was eye watering, almost £2,000 :!:
Consulting with my friendly aluminium body craftsman, he recomended his mate Paul, Mercedes trained mechanic, who recently started on his own and did the flywheel job on my friends Mini.
He did our Golf in one day, ~6.5hrs @ £35 p.h = £230 (+ £640 for parts

Paul is located near the centre of Chatham, I would recomend him for any mechanical job, and probably also for tunning or electrical jobs.
